The appraiser's report and floorplan is a form that can be used to prove the precise Gross Living Area (GLA), the total livable area, of your home. How do home measurement services work?

During a floorplan service, a certified appraiser takes measurements of the property with a measuring tool — generally a tape or laser measuring device. As they tour the home, they make note of the layout of the rooms and other features, like closets, entryways, and fireplaces. They might draw a rough sketch of the property. Then, the appraiser types up a report and a more detailed sketch showing the total square footage and the general layout of the home.
